Fashion History Lesson: Woman and Pants

Gianni Versace Vintage Printed Trouser

via Polyvore

Not very long ago women rejected the idea of wearing pants. Today, pants are a more then acceptable staple in daily fashion for either gender. They didn't come into acceptance until the later part of the 1900's. There are many varieties of pants to choose from besides what used to be plain old trousers. Jeans? Forget about it.If you were a women in the industrial work field before the later 1900's, you basically wore what the men wore.

Men's trousers had come after the french revolution. Did you read my posting from back in January 2012?  Fashion History Lesson: Coulottes.
